With the issuance of the first impact factor for Annals of Eye Science, we celebrate and express deep appreciation for the contributions of all authors, reviewers, staff, editors, and others who have worked tirelessly to make this possible. The field of medical publishing has become increasingly competitive and demanding in recent years, and it takes both scientific excellence and effective organizational workflows to publish quality peer-reviewed articles that meet international standards. We look forward to continued growth of AES as a forum for advancing research and disseminating new clinical knowledge in ophthalmology!

As both editorial board member and contributor to the Annals of Breast Surgery, the journal brings me great focus to advancing the field of breast surgery through an interdisciplinary lens. This journal uniquely captures the breadth of the specialty, integrating both the foundational principles of basic science and the practicalities of clinical application. By fostering a comprehensive understanding of breast surgery, we can ensure that practitioners are well-equipped with the latest knowledge and techniques necessary for effective patient care. The journal's commitment to covering a diverse array of topics allows for a richer dialogue among surgeons, researchers, and allied health professionals, thereby enhancing our collective efforts toward better outcomes in breast health.

The inclusion of modern technologies and advances in the Annals of Breast Surgery is particularly significant to me, especially as we navigate an increasingly complex healthcare landscape that includes advancements in artificial intelligence (AI). As AI continues to reshape our approach to diagnosis and treatment, embracing these innovations within the journal’s framework is essential. By focusing on cutting-edge research and incorporating AI-driven methodologies, we empower surgeons to stay at the forefront of their practice and deliver more precise, personalized care to patients. This not only elevates the standard of surgical interventions but also provides a platform for critical discussions on the ethical implications and practical applications of these technologies.

Furthermore, my involvement with the Annals of Breast Surgery is driven by a passion for promoting interdisciplinary collaboration. The melding of basic science insights with clinical practice fosters a holistic understanding of breast surgery that transcends traditional boundaries. In an era where the pace of scientific discovery is accelerating, staying informed and adaptable is crucial. The journal serves as an invaluable resource for those in the field, allowing us to continually learn, innovate, and improve our approaches to breast surgery and breast medicine in general, which ultimately translates into better patient care and outcomes.

I have been involved with Journal of Thoracic Disease for several years now as an author, reviewer, and recently as an associate editor. During such time, I have witnessed how the journal evolved to include international experts in diagnosing as well as managing the leading cause of cancer death i.e. lung cancer. This has given JTD greater visibility across the globe. It continues to be a leading resource for innovation, clinical research as well as updated reviews in the field of thoracic disease. With such clear vision this has led to increase in impact factor due to the great effort the editorial team as well as all staff involved with JTD. I firmly believe that the journal future is bright and carries more collaboration across multiple disciplines for a better management of patient with thoracic diseases across the globe.

JTD has been a great international journal representing so many different countries with different experiences, data, outcomes, and treatment styles that allows readers to get a better depth and breadth of understanding on truly what is cutting edge clinical care and research as it relates to diseases in the chest. It is also a great well rounded journal for cancer and non-cancer topics and is valuable for all different specialties as well. I have enjoyed being both an editorial board member as well as author for JTD articles. In addition, the editorials, commentaries and reviews by JTD members are fantastic.
